Privacy Policy for Easy Custom Autofill
Last updated: April 29, 2026
Easy Custom Autofill is a simple browser extension for saving text you type often, then filling it from the right-click menu.
It is meant for public, low-risk text like links, usernames, short templates, notes, or other text snippets you already copy and paste.
It is not a password manager. Do not use it for passwords, payment information, recovery codes, bank details, medical information, private identifiers, or anything sensitive.
Where your saved text is stored
Your saved entries are stored locally in your browser using
chrome.storage.local.
I cannot see what you save in the extension. Easy Custom Autofill does not intentionally send your saved entries to me, to my own server, or to my own tracking system.
No built-in tracking
Easy Custom Autofill does not include its own analytics, ads, tracking pixels, remote logging, or user behavior tracking.
How the extension uses your saved text
The extension uses your saved text only to:
- show your saved entries in the popup
- create right-click menu options
- copy an entry when you click Copy
- fill the selected text into a field when you choose it
- export or import your saved list when you choose those options
Important: websites can read what you put on them
Easy Custom Autofill does not send your saved text anywhere by itself. But once you fill or paste text into a website, that website may be able to read, save, process, submit, or share it just like anything you typed manually.
If a website uses third-party scripts, those scripts may also be able to interact with the page depending on how that website works.
Easy Custom Autofill cannot control what websites do with text after you place it on their page.
Other risks outside this extension
Local storage is useful, but it is not risk-free. Your saved text or exported backups could still be exposed by things outside this extension's control, such as:
- someone with access to your device
- malware
- malicious browser extensions
- browser or operating system vulnerabilities
- websites where you paste or autofill text
- unsafe backup storage
- accidentally sharing exported files
Google, Chrome, and the Chrome Web Store
Easy Custom Autofill runs in Chrome and is distributed through the Chrome Web Store.
Google may collect Chrome or Chrome Web Store information such as installs, uninstalls, crash reports, diagnostics, usage statistics, or security-related information according to Google's own policies and your Chrome settings.
That is controlled by Google and Chrome, not by Easy Custom Autofill. This extension does not intentionally send your saved entries to Google, to me, or to my own server.
Permissions
Storage
Used to save your entries locally in your browser.
Context Menus
Used to add Easy Custom Autofill to the right-click menu.
Active Tab and Scripting
Used to insert your selected saved text into the field you are using.
Content Script Access
Used to detect editable fields and fill selected text on webpages. This helps the extension work on normal inputs, textareas, search boxes, and editable text areas.
This is not used to collect browsing history, monitor your browsing, or send page content to me.
Export and import
Export
Export List creates a JSON backup file containing your saved entries.
That file is plain text. Anyone with access to it may be able to read it, so keep it somewhere safe.
Import
Import List reads the selected JSON file locally in your browser and imports valid entries.
Importing may replace your current saved list. Export your current list before importing another backup.
Data loss
Saved entries may be lost if you uninstall the extension, clear browser or extension data, reset your browser profile, switch devices without a backup, or experience browser storage problems.
Export your saved list regularly if the entries are important to you.
